METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MOUNTING STATOR BLADES IN AXIAL FLOW COMPRESSORS

An axial flow compressor (10) and a method for mounting the stator blades (16) in the compressor. The compressor (10) is comprised of a stator casing (11) having a rotor (13) axially positioned therein. The casing (11) has internal circumferential grooves (20) into which the stator blades (16) are equally spaced therein. Resilient spacers (30), e.g. leaf spring, are positioned within any spaces which might exist in the groove (20) after all of the blades (16) have been properly spaced around the groove (20).
