SENSITIZING DYE SOLAR CELL

A sensitizing dye solar cell exhibiting excellent conversion efficiency. The sensitizing dye solar cell comprises a light absorbing layer (3) composed of light absorbing particles carrying dye and an electrolytic layer (5) interposed between an electrode (2) formed on the surface of a transparent substrate (1) and a counter electrode (6), characterized in that light scattering particles (4) are contained in the light absorbing layer (3) while having a particle size different from that of the light absorbing particles. Since the majority of energy of light transmitting the light absorbing layer in the conventional structure can be absorbed by a dye in the light absorbing layer in the inventive sensitizing dye solar cell, conversion efficiency can be enhanced and output current of the sensitizing dye solar cell can be increased.
