The present invention comprises tools (<bold>20</highlight>) for deployment downhole in a wellbore for aiding in the production of hydrocarbons. In an exemplary embodiment, the tools (<bold>20</highlight>) comprise a tool body (<bold>24</highlight>); an electrically powered device (<bold>22</highlight>) disposed proximate the tool body (<bold>24</highlight>); a removable power source (<bold>26</highlight>) for providing power to the device disposed in the tool body (<bold>24</highlight>), the power source connected to or mounted into or about the tool body (<bold>24</highlight>), the power source (<bold>26</highlight>) further being fixed or replaceable downhole; and a wireless communications device (<bold>57</highlight>) operatively connected to the electrically powered device.
