PURPOSE:To enable to obtain large torque as well as arbitrary rotating direction and speed in a simple and light weight structure by bonding a piezoelectric element to the side of a slot formed on a stator surface, and contacting a movement element with the stator surface. CONSTITUTION:Slots 5, 6... are formed on the surface of a stator 2, and piezoelectric elements 18, 19, 20, 21... are respectively bonded to the sides of the slots 5, 6.... A movable element 1 is contacted with the surface of the stator 2. When a high frequency signal is applied to one elements 10, 12... in the slots through lead wirings 19, 21..., the element 1 is moved in one direction by the frictional force due to the surface wave SAW. When the high frequency signal is applied through the lead wirings 18, 20 to piezoelectric elements 9, 11 of the other side, the element 1 moves in reverse direction. |
