<p>By measuring the chemical properties of a small amount of saliva collected from the oral cavity of a subject, the risk of dental decay can be easily and sanitarily estimated within a short period of time. Thus, it is intended to provide a method of estimating the risk of dental decay whereby a subject can adequately understand his/her own dental decay risk while sufficiently communicating with a dentist and thus keep his/her oral environment at the best state; an apparatus of estimating the risk of dental decay; a system estimating the risk of dental decay; and a program estimating the risk of dental decay. Saliva is collected from the oral cavity of a subject and an acid is added thereto at a definite ratio. Then the chemical properties of the saliva are measured and the risk of dental decay is estimated based on the measurement data.</p> |
