A breastpump assembly (10) includes a hood member (12) having a funnel-shape d shield portion for placement over a breast and a sleeve portion (22) extendi ng from the funnel-shaped portion. The breast pump includes a substantially rig id plastic housing (24) connected to the extending portion of the breast hood (12). A pump (14) is fixed or functionally attached to the housing (24) for applying a negative pressure to the housing (24). A container (16) is attach ed to the housing (24), the container (16) being in fluid communication with th e breast hood (12) to receive expressed breast milk. At least a portion of the breastpump exterior surface includes a compliant portion. |
