The mold closing mechanism for an injection molding machine, has a locking nut (7) which is locked to the spindle shaft (4) against a reverse twisting movement. It is held by the closing force action of the threaded link (6) which has no free play, and gives a force locked and self-restraining action. A coil spring coupling is at the stroke drive (8,9).
