A biodegradable composition for infection treatment upon operation, comprising an antibiotic agent and a physiologically active substance; a composition that is excellent in safety and biocompatibility and, because of appropriately sustained release of antibacterial and physiologically active substances, excellent in antibacterial and bone regeneration effects; a composition useful for treatment of bone infectious diseases upon operation, in particular, artificial joint replacement and/or osteosynthesis; and a therapeutic composition for bone infectious diseases, comprising a polysaccharide and an antibacterial substance (1).
