The invention concerns a control mechanism for a watch part comprising a housing (10) defining a reference plane and, integral with said frame: a control stem (12) provided with an annular groove (14) having a width (I), an external diameter (D) and an internal diameter (d) mounted mobile in translation inside the housing (10), along a first axis (AA') included in said plane, and a retaining plate (20) mounted (20) on the housing (10) parallel to said plane and comprising a locking part (22) mounted mobile in rotation about a second axis (BB') perpendicular to the reference plane and co-operating with said stem (12) by engagement in the groove (14), to limit is translational movement.
