A dosing assembly discharges a pre-determined quantity of a powder (14) product into a container. The assembly has a dosing chamber (24) served by a hopper (16). The powder descends from the hopper vertically into the dosing chamber, followed by discharge esp. in the same direction (46) from the dosing chamber to the container. The transition from the dosing chamber to the discharge tube takes place over a ramp at an angle of between zero and 90[deg].
