A locking system for a vehicle has: - a locking adjusting unit (8) for the locking and unlocking of at least one vehicle-side locking element; - a locking control unit (1,7) for the control of the locking adjusting unit; and - first and second release devices (1-6) which each release a control action of the locking control unit. The locking control unit is equipped with at least two different positioning speeds for the control of the locking adjusting unit and the locking adjusting unit when there is release of one control action by the second release device controls with different positioning speed from when there is release of a control action by the first release device.
