A folding boat has a main support frame made of strip material cut and joined in to a frame which can be folded into a compact package. The cover for the boat comprises a rectangular bottom panel and a top panel with a cut-out for the cockpit. The two panels are stretched over the frame and are joined at the overlapping edges using press tapes. The front and rear ends of the frame are fitted with clamps to secure the ends of the covers.
