PURPOSE:To obtain a novel nicotine oxidase capable of producing N- methylmyosmine from nicotine using molecular oxygen as an electron acceptor, by culturing a microbial strain belonging to Arthrobacter genus. CONSTITUTION:Arthrobacter globiformis NoX2 (FERM-P 3481) is cultured in a medium containing nicotine oxide as a substrate under aerobic condition at 28-32 deg.C for 14-24hr, and the objective nicotine oxidase capable of forming N-methylmyosmine from nicotine using molecular oxygen as an electron acceptor is separated from the cultured microbial cells. |
