A refrigerator, comprising an expansion mechanism having a thermosensitive expansion valve (46), wherein an open/close valve (7a) installed on the upstream side of an evaporator (45) is temporarily closed to forcibly overheat the outlet side of the evaporator (45) to increase the opening of the expansion valve (46) and then opened to flow liquid refrigerant to the evaporator (45) to perform a wettish operation, whereby refrigerant oil accumulated in the evaporator (45) can be collected to a compression mechanism (2D).
