PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the structure of a mechanical pencil which can be operated by both sliding and fixing methods. SOLUTION: In the mechanical pencil, a ring stopper 4 which is engaged with the inside of a mouthpiece 8 forming the outside of the tip part of the mechanical pencil or prevents the forward movement of a fastening ring 3 or a slide drum stopper 7 which can adjust the backward movement distance of a slide drum 11 and prevent the movement itself by being capable of forward/ backward moving by being engaged with the outer surface of a part protruded forward from a part joined to an outside cylindrical part 6 in the inside cylindrical part 5 of the mechanical pencil is provided. The slide drum stopper 7 has a rotary collar 71 on the periphery. In the mouthpiece 8 or the outside cylindrical part 6, at least one clearance 12 having a size for a user to touch a rotary cylindrical part by a finger is formed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
