PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of controlling a refuse collecting vehicle, improving the workability of refuse loading work. SOLUTION: In the state of receiving a signal from tilting position detecting means showing that a refuse charge box is located lower than a tilting possible position, when receiving a signal from position detecting means showing that the refuse charge box is located at a lowering completion position or a rising completion position and a signal from safety identifying means showing that the refuse charge box is lashed, control means determines that it is possible to do refuse loading work. Then, when receiving a signal from the safety identifying means showing that the lashing of the refuse charge box is cancelled, it determines that it is impossible to do the refuse loading work.
