PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reliable lens barrel realizing smooth switching between automatic focusing and manual focusing in spite of being an easy operation. SOLUTION: A coil spring coiled several times 12 is installed in a band shape on the barrel surface of an automatic adjusting barrel 6 moving a distance adjusting barrel 5, and a manual adjusting barrel 7 is installed through the spring 12. The lens barrel is provided with a driving system which can be connected or disconnected to the barrel 6 by a motor 11. When the driving force by the motor 11 is connected, the barrel 7 is not moved, and when the driving force by the motor 11 is disconnected, the barrel 7 is coupled with the barrel 6 by retaining the barrel 6 by the spring 12 by the terminal operation of the spring 12 interlocked with the barrel 7, thereby, the barrel 5 is made possible to be adjusted manually.
