PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a smear rod and a specimen collection tube with it sticking a specimen uniformly in a smear part. SOLUTION: This smear rod sticking the specimen to itself for applying the stuck specimen to a culture medium is provided with a smear part 24 for sticking the specimen and a supporting rod part 23 arranging the smear part 24 in one end. The surface of the smear part 24 has a hydrophilicity. Because of the hydrophilicity of the surface in the smear part, the specimen adheres to the smear part uniformly. Typically, the specimen is soluble in water. The hydrophilicity can be given to the smear part 24 by plasma irradiation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
