PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerant compressor that accurately controls opening/ closing timing of a discharge opening over a cylinder. SOLUTION: The refrigerant compressor 1, which comprises a compression element 2 and a drive element (motor element) 14 for driving the compression element 2, has the discharge opening 92 cut in the compression element 2, a valve disk 94 mounted on a rotary shaft 16 of the drive element (motor element) 14, and a valve hole 96 formed in the valve disk 94. The valve disk 94 closes the discharge opening 92 of the compression element 2, and opens the discharge opening 92 when rotated with rotation of the rotary shaft 16 until the valve hole 96 is aligned with the discharge opening 92.
