A connection between load bearing wooden components (1), e.g. boards, using metal, e.g. steel anchor units (3), comprises a cut-out in the wood which accommodates the metal anchor, which is fixed by a dowel (4). The length of the dowel corresponds to the thickness of the wood. The anchor and the dowel are fixed to the wood with adhesive.
