PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner having good transfer ability to transfer material even when printing is performed for a long period of time, prevented from causing faulty cleaning and yielding an excellent image with high resolution free from the lowering of printing density or the occurrence of fogging, and to provide a color image forming method by which a distinct image is obtained without causing the faulty cleaning on a photoreceptor and an electrifying roll nor the color mixture of the toner when it is applied to color toner. SOLUTION: The toner is set so that its volume average particle size (dv) is 4 to 8μm and its particle size distribution (dv/dp) is 1.0 to 1.3, and consists of coloring particles whose average sphericity (Sc/Sr) obtained by dividing the area (Sc) of a circle where the absolute maximum length of the particle is set as a diameter by the substantial projection area (Sr) of the particle is 1.0 to 1.3 and an additive. The angle of repose of the toner is 40°to 50°and the looseness apparent specific gravity thereof is 0.3 to 0.4 g/cc. Such toner and the image forming method using the toner are provided.
