PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner having good transfer ability even when printing is performed at high speed over a long term, and yielding an excellent image free from the lowering of printing density or the occurrence of fogging and having high resolution, and an image forming method using the toner. SOLUTION: The toner is set so that its volume average particle size (dv) is 8.5 to 10.0μm and its particle size distribution (dv/dp) is 1.0 to 1.3, and consists of coloring particles whose average sphericity (Sc/Sr) obtained by dividing the area (Sc) of a circle where the absolute maximum length of the particle is set as a diameter by the substantial projection area (Sr) of the particle is 1.0 to 1.3 and an additive. The angle of repose of the toner is 15 to 30°and the looseness apparent specific gravity thereof is 0.40 to 0.45 g/cc. Such toner and the image forming method using the toner are provided.
