PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition for an oriented film having excellent strength without impairing characteristics of a propylene random copolymer having excellent stretchability and heat sealability, to provide a method for producing the same and to prepare the oriented film. SOLUTION: The resin composition for the oriented film containing a laminar clay mineral fine powder dispersed and mixed in the propylene random copolymer obtained through a process for melting and kneading the polypropylene random copolymer with the laminar clay mineral fine powder in an extruder in the presence of carbon dioxide gas is stretched to give the oriented film.
