PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easily feasible gas plug with an emergency shutoff function formed by using a thermally expansive material for surely working in the case of a fire for shutting off gas. SOLUTION: Inside a gas plug main body 10, a driving member 12 and the thermally expansive material A for driving (turning) the driving member 12 by its thermal expansion are assembled below the plug 10. In the case of a fire, when the thermally expansive material A is thermally expanded, the driving member 12 is turned by an expansion force of the thermally expansive material A. Consequently, the plug 10 is turned from an opening position to a closing position by rotation of the driving member 12 to stop gas. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
