The engine (1) has a unit to recognize a hot start. When hot start conditions are present, Lambda regulation effects the opening behavior of a tank ventilation valve (12) in such a way, that an optimum fuel-air-ratio Lambda for a hot start resp. hot after-start is pref. achieved by proportioning of the fuel through the valve, and the preferred ventilation via the valve is maintained, until hot start conditions are finished. |
