The method involves the entry of function- and/or service-related information containing the current reception frequencies for receivers and developments of service programs for measurement equipment. The service information is entered as bar codes; information is converted into bar code format and read in by an optical reader integrated into the equipment housing or separate from and connected to the equipment.
