PURPOSE:To lengthen the Japanese-Industrial-Standard-prescribed life of deep charging and discharge, by filling a Pb-Ca alloy base with a paste obtained by mixing diluted sulfuric acid, water and a powder of lead manufactured from a Pb-Se alloy. CONSTITUTION:A Pb-Ca alloy base is filled with a paste obtained by mixing diluted sulfuric acid, water and a powder of lead manufactured from a Pb-Se alloy by a ball mill process or a Burton-Pott process. Since alpha-PbO2 which is relatively inactive electrochemically is produced because of the presence of Se, it is hard for a discharge reaction to advance, and the fall in the degree of electric contact with an active material is suppressed. A positive electrode plate for a lead storage battery is thus manufactured to lengthen the Japanese- Industrial-Standard-prescribed life of deep charging and discharge. |
