Kit for dying keratinic fibers

Kit for dyeing keratinic fibers comprises an alkalizing composition comprising an alkaline agent, an oxidizing composition with a pH 7 or less comprising an oxidant and a molecular complex formed from a direct colorant and an organic acid (weakly) soluble in the composition. The organic acid has a pKa above the pH of the oxidizing composition and below that of a mixture of the two compositions in both case by at least one unit. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) the colorant composition; (2) a method of oxidation dyeing by mixing the alkalizing and oxidizing composition; (3) a ready to use composition in the form of the mixture; and (4) a device with several compartments, one containing the alkalizing composition and the other the oxidizing composition.
