<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image forming apparatus preventing a transfer return in which a toner image is returned again on a photosensitive drum when the toner image is primary transferred on an intermediate transfer body. <P>SOLUTION: The color image forming apparatus has an image carrier which forms N colors of an electrostatic latent image by N times of rotation, a developing devise constituted so as to use one of N pieces of development devices that can make the electrostatic latent image visible, the intermediate transfer body which forms overlapped toner images of N colors by N times of primary transferring of a monochromatic toner image and a secondary transfer means which transfers the toner images altogether to a recording medium. The color image forming apparatus applies a charge of the same polarity as that of a normal electrification toner, before the monochromatic toner image of 2nd to Nth color is primary transferred, with an electrifying means arranged on the intermediate transfer body, to toner images formed by primary transfer of 1st to (N-1)th colors on the intermediate transfer body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
