<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an image failure due to flaws of a photoreceptor drum and a transfer roll and damage to a driving system due to a loss of synchronism or breakage, etc., of a driving motor and gear in the cleaning mode of a step feeding type fixing device in a two-motor system image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: In the two-motor system image forming apparatus, the step feeding quantity in transferring is made to be more than step feeding quantity in fixing, or the step feeding is started after the end of paper passed a transfer nip, or a clutch is provided to the driving system of the photoreceptor drum. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
