<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To substantially uniformly inflate an airbag having a large volume part of which the cross section is relatively large under an inflated condition, and a small volume part of which the cross section is relatively small under the inflated condition to complete the inflation of an air bag in an early stage as the whole. <P>SOLUTION: The air bag 10 has a bag base part 11 inflated body-width- directionally along a cowl top part 82, and left and right bag side parts 12 inflated along left and right pillars 83 from both left and right end sides of the bag base part 11 to form an upward protruded shape. Each gas blow-out port 51 of a gas generator 50 is arranged in a lower part inside the each bag side part 12.
