<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To noninvasively measure a flow of liquid driven by a flexible diaphragm or membrane pump. <P>SOLUTION: A system for monitoring liquid driven by the pump and calculating a parameter related to the liquid includes supplying gas for driving the pump, means for measuring a flow and pressure of the gas used to drive the pump, and means for calculating an instantaneous flow rate of the liquid flowing into or out of the pump from the measured flow and pressure of the gas. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
