PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermoset resin composition having heat resistance and friction characteristics stabilized over a long period, high abrasion resistance and excellent durability by improving the adhesion of a phenol resin composition having poor adhesion to an aramid fiber-containing fibrous base material. SOLUTION: The thermoset resin composition comprises (A) a phenol resin such as a resol-type phenol resin and a novolak resin, and (B) a titanium chelate compound having an oxyacid as a ligand, as essential components.
