PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method and an inspection device which promote insulation degradation between two conductor patterns of a printed wiring board for detecting a potential short circuit. SOLUTION: A high voltage pulse is applied between the two conductor patterns for a prescribed time period, thus promoting insulation degradation. Then a DC voltage is applied for continuity inspection, to detect a potential short circuit. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
