Continuous nozzle type casting appts. for casting liq. steel, includes a refractory element with a channel for the flow of liq. steel and appts. for cooling and mixing the melt. Arranged around the channel are entry and exit openings of different sizes. The cross-section of the exit of the channel is appropriate to ensure the desired flow of molten steel, taking into account the height of the charge of liq. steel above the cross-section. - The channel includes at least two portions of different cross-section and on at least one part of its length the channel has a cross-section greater (up to 3 times) than that of the exit opening.
