The method for dividing a stream (2) of printed items (3) into sub-streams (4.1 - 4.3) for further processing comprises feeding grippers (6.1 - 6.3) attached to the conveyors for the substreams to the dividing point (1) in a sequence which corresponds to the sequence in which the items are to be fed into them. The sequence is controlled by sensors and grippers are held in buffer zones (7.1 - 7.3) until required. Independent claims are included for: (a) a machine for carrying out the method; (b) use of the machine for feeding printed items through parallel processing stations; and (c) use of the machine for feeding printed items to several processing machines in parallel product streams. |
