The lunette is for the central clamping of bar-shaped workpieces (2) with circular diameter in a lathe. It has three holding members (4,5) arranged in a common plane and having running rollers (3). The two outer members have clamping areas (6), which are pivotable around link bolts (8) in the lunette body (7). The central holding member (5) is adjustable in a straight line relatively to the workpiece. Swarf protection caps (9) are arranged on the clamping arms, obviating the penetration of swarf between the running surfaces of the running rollers and the workpiece. In the clamping arms flushing medium conduits (12) are provided for supply to internal cap conduits (10) formed in the swarf protection caps and which have cap mouths (13) issuing onto the running surfaces. |
