MECHANICAL OPTICAL SWITCH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mechanical optical switch which has a relatively simple constitution suitable for cost reduction and has small coupling error and is superior in characteristics such as transmission loss. SOLUTION: The mechanical optical switch has retroreflection faces placed in incidence/exit optical paths 32 and 34 of light and has reflection shapes of the retroreflection faces changed to switch the optical paths. A V-shapes retroreflection face 10a and a W-shaped retroreflection face 20a which are preliminarily formed are alternately placed on the incidence/exit optical paths 31 to 34 to switch the optical paths.
