PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymerizable composition for an optical member, giving an optical member having high heat-resistance and small light-transmission loss. SOLUTION: The polymerizable composition for an optical member contains a radical-polymerizable monomer and a compound having a refractive index different from that of the polymerizable monomer. The compound is expressed by general formula (1) (R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>and R<SP>3</SP>are each independently an alkyl, a cycloalkyl, a halogen atom, an ethylenic polymerizable group or the like; (1), (m) and (n) are each independently 0-4 provided that these values are not zero at the same time; (q) is 0-2; and (u) and (v) are each independently an integer of 0-2).
