发明名称 DIESEL INJECTION IGNITER AND METHOD
摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce or prevent the ignition delay of a diesel engine by a fuel injector, that is, an igniter nozzle provided with an energy supplying fuel conditioning means on a part where the fuel is injected to a cylinder. SOLUTION: This diesel injection igniter includes an electrically-conductive injection valve 24 reciprocatable in an electrically-conductive nozzle body 14, and seatable on a valve seat to stop the fuel flow through a nozzle orifice 30. The injection valve is electrically insulated from a main body, except as its contact with the valve seta, and conducted to the electrical charge at least during opening of the valve. The electrical spark discharge is generated between the injection valve and the valve seat upon opening of the valve. The fuel injected first is conditioned by the energy of the spark to be approximately immediately ignited by compression ignition upon passing through the electric arc, and entering into an engine cylinder, whereby the diesel ignition delay can be essentially prevented.
