PURPOSE:To put a large amount of a friction controlling material to fiber in high fixing stability, by impregnating a non-asbestos fiber with a friction controlling material containing a curing agent in uncured or semicured state and curing the material with heat. CONSTITUTION:For example, chopped glass strand is used as non-asbestos fiber, cashew oil as a friction controlling material and formaldehyde as a curing agent. The chopped strand, cashew oil and formaldehyde are mixed with each other and cured by heating to fix the friction controlling material to the fiber.
