PURPOSE:To facilitate the measurement of CO2 concentration, by a method wherein the concentration of oxygen in a mixed gas containing N2, O2 and CO2 is determined, the concentration of oxygen of mixed gas of N2 and O2 is done after CO2 is made to be adsorbed, and then the concentration of CO2 is determined from both the measured values. CONSTITUTION:A mixed gas containing N2, O2 and CO2 enters an oxygen densitometer 3 from an introduction path 2 to measure the concentration of oxygen. Then, via a tube 2b, the mixed gas pressure through CO2 adsorption section 6a where activated charcoal or the like to become a mixed gas containing N2 and O2 when a valve 5a is opened. Then, the concentration of oxygen of the mixed gas is measured with an oxygen densitometer 8. Outputs of these densitometers 3 and 8 are computed with a computing section 13 to determine the concentration of CO2. Yet when the valve 5a is opened, CO2 of the CO2 adsorption section 6b is deaerated with a pump 11. According to this apparatus, the concentration of CO2 can be easily detected using a simple oxygen densitometer.
