PURPOSE: A device for processing media using an external storage is provided to play/record a media file without embedding a storing module into the inside by reading/playing the media file stored in the connected external storage and recording the media file encoded/generated from the device to the external device. CONSTITUTION: A USB(Universal Serial Bus) host module(230) offers access to the external device(280) by connecting to the external storage through a USB interface module(290). An information sourcing module sources an input signal. A program memory module(260) stores a system program for controlling a system of a media processing device(200). A signal processing module(250) decodes media data by the first signal processing method and encodes the input signal to the media data by the second signal processing method. A user interface module(220) offers interface to a user. A system control module(210) controls the storage controlling module, the signal processing module, and the user interface module.
