PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simplified vehicle restricting device P which eliminates a bother of the driver to step off a vehicle, to remove a vehicle restricting rod 15 at an entrance 3 of a passage 1 to facilities W, and to return the rod to the original location, and can be set up at a relatively low cost, by arranging the vehicle restricting rod 15 at the entrance 3, and energizing the same to assume a vertically erected position by a balance weight 16 in normal times, and to assume a horizontally laid position upon abutment on a peripheral portion of the vehicle passing through the entrance 3. SOLUTION: In construction of the simplified vehicle restricting device, a horizontal shaft is arranged in a cover plate 6 over the tip of a recess 4 on the periphery of the entrance 3 of the passage 1 to the facilities W of various kinds. The horizontal shaft has an intermediate gear which is in mesh with an upper gear fixed by an upper horizontal shaft, and the vehicle restricting rod 15 is attached to the upper horizontal gear. Then, a lower horizontal shaft having a lower gear in mesh with the intermediate gear has a balance weight 16 attached thereto. Further, upon abutment to the peripheral portion of the vehicle entering the entrance 3, the vehicle restricting rod 15 is laid down 15B to assume the horizontal position, whereas after passage of the vehicle through the entrance 3, the vehicle restricting rod 15 is vertically erected by virtue of a restoring force of the balance weight 16B, to thereby block the entrance 3.
