PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device used for a treatment for improving the contraction prevention and anti-piling property of an animal fiber, without harming the original touch and water repellent property of the animal fiber and also giving a small load to the environment. SOLUTION: This modifying device is equipped with a treating liquid- circulating system having an aquarium 11 filled with aqueous treating liquid, a net conveyer constituted so as to convey the web state continuous animal fiber material 10 by a nipping state with upper and lower 2 mesh belts 12a, 12b as overlapping each other through the aqueous treating liquid in the aquarium 11, a gas liquid-mixing pump 13 joined with a sucking ports 15, 16 for ejecting the aqueous treating liquid, a static mixer 14 joined at the downstream side of the gas liquid-mixing pump 13 and an ejection nozzle 19 installed at a position for opposing the sucking ports 15, 16 in the aquarium by putting the mesh belts 12a, 12b in between and joined at the downstream side of the static mixer 14, and an ozonizer 27 supplying ozone gas into the treating liquid- circulation system.
