PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of preventing the occurrence of biting flaws on hot rolling of a B-containing steel sheet. SOLUTION: On hot rolling of steel containing, by mass, 0.03 to 0.10% C, 0.005 to 0.01% Si, 0.1 to 0.5% Mn,≤0.03% P,≤0.02% S and 0.0005 to 0.003% B, and the balance Fe with impurities, finish rolling is performed under the condition that inequality (1) is satisfied in the case the Si content is 0.005 to 0.01%, and inequality (2) is satisfied in the case the Si content is >0.01 to 0.10%, respectively: T<(120/t)+900 (1), and T<120/t)+920 (2); wherein, t is the time (sec) required for passing the steel sheet through the spacing between one rolling roll of a finish rolling mill and the subsequent rolling roll (in the case a high pressure water descaler lies before the rolling roll, the spacing between the descaler and the subsequent rolling roll); and T is the highest surface temperature (°C) of the steel sheet in each spacing.
