PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent freezing of a heat-source side heat exchanger at start of a device in an air conditioner provided with a steam compression type refrigerant circuit including the heat-source side heat exchanger with water as its heat source, and a compressing means. SOLUTION: This air conditioner 1 is provided with a freeze prevention control means 10 for preventing freeze of heat exchangers 22 and 23 by stopping operation when a sufficient amount of water is not supplied to the heat exchangers 22 and 23. The freeze prevention control means 10 determines if sufficient water flows into the main heat exchangers 22 and 23 based on a refrigerant gas temperature measured by thermistors T5 and T7 (temperature measuring means) installed on the side of each refrigerant gas of the heat exchangers 22 and 23, and when it determines that water is not sufficient, it sends an operation stop command to the compressing means 21.
