<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preparation for external use for skin that has high moisture retention and develops synergetic effect in improvement of the skin symptoms caused by senility, e.g. wrinkles and in improvement of roughened skin. <P>SOLUTION: Caterpillar fungi are extraction-treated with a supercritical fluid or a subcritical fluid and the resultant extract is combined with at least one or two or more of glycyrrhezinic acid, azulene, salicylic acid, allantoin and derivatives and salts thereof and usual anti-inflammatory agents, e.g. extracts from various kinds of herbal drugs and thereby excellent moisture retention effect is acquired to synergistically achieve the amelioration of skin symptoms caused by senility and the improvement in roughened skin. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
