PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new gastric peristalsis depressant because butylscopolaminium bromide (a kind of anticholinergic) and glucagons have been used as a gastric peristalsis depressant, but the butylscopolaminium bromide is contraindicative for patients with glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy and arrhythmia and the gastric peristalsis depressant effect of the glucagons is unsatisfactory.
SOLUTION: The gastric peristalsis depressant contains peppermint oil or L-menthol as an active ingredient and is directly sprayed to the vestibule of the pylorus and thereby the effect is promptly and continuously developed and can be safely applied to the patients who are contraindicative to butylscopolaminium bromide.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
