PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AF (Auto-Focus) camera capable of preventing a photograph out of focus from being taken in advance by correcting the influence of auxiliary light reflected by high parts or the like arranged near an AF sensor in the case of requiring irradiation with the auxiliary light. SOLUTION: The AF camera capable of realizing the range-finding of a specified point on a photographic image plane is equipped with a light projecting means for projecting light to a subject corresponding to a subject reflected on the photographic image plane, a pair of sensor arrays for detecting an image signal related to the subject, and a sensor array control means performing control to allow the sensor array to start detecting the image signal and the sensor array to stop detecting the image signal when output from the sensor array is at a specified level. The AF camera is characterized in that, in the case of AF, the sensor array control means changes the output level form the sensor array at which the sensor array is allowed to stop detecting the image signal in the case of a photographing condition that light projection by the light projecting means is required and in the case of a photographing condition that the light projection thereby is not required.
